About PrayQR

Our Roots in Missions

"Over the past years, we've built hundreds of houses, given thousands of bags of food, seen thousands of patients in remote villages, and had millions of contacts with people in Honduras. We praise God for giving us those precious opportunities and we trust Him to continue working on people's hearts after we're gone. But, we've always hoped to do MORE to build relationships, become a part of people's lives and be a part of what God plans to do. Until now, we haven't had a lot of options. Until now...

This summer we started a pilot program that takes advantage of technology and the ever-expanding use of smart phones and internet in Honduras. The program uses QR codes to collect prayer requests. We have been intentional about posting these QR codes in the houses we build and packing QR codes in baby bags and packs of food. Every time we serve someone, there's s QR code handout! Then we just wait for the prayer requests.

Since we started the pilot in June of 2023, we have received numerous requests for wisdom, safety, provision, and salvation. Each request has gotten a minimum of 5 prayer responses which the requestor can read on their cell phone in real time! Our hope is to build relationships over time through prayer requests and responses along with opportunities for online bible study and connections with the local church and other community services.

Until now, we haven't felt like we had a reliable and consistent way to build relationships at scale. Now, thanks to technology and God's gift of creativity, it seems like we are at the beginning of a way to partner with God in His transformative work in Honduras."

We Believe:

  • God exists and has revealed himself to humanity. The Bible is a special expression of this revelation, and it finds its ultimate expression in the incarnation of Jesus Christ. God is spirit and eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, indivisible and of one substance.

  • Prayer is powerful whether we can see, perceive or experience its effects.

  • The Bible—all the books of the Old and New Testament—is Holy Scripture, the inspired Word of God, infallible and inerrant in the original writings. It is fully authoritative and our only absolutely trustworthy guide for faith, life on earth and our preparation for eternal life.

  • Human beings were created in the image of God. Men and women sinned, incurring not only physical death but also the spiritual death that is separation from God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature.

  • Jesus Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, preexistent with God the Father, God of very God. He is the eternal Word become flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, suffered, bled, and died. He was buried and three days later rose from the grave victorious over death and the powers of darkness. He ascended to the right hand of God the Father, where he is glorified as Lord of all. He is the only mediator between God and human beings. He is the God-given atonement for the sins of the world. There is salvation in him and him alone.

  • The Holy Spirit convinces men and women of sin, effectually calls them, and is the divine agent by whom they are born into the kingdom of God. He indwells, enlightens, and empowers believers to live in union with Christ.

  • Human beings are accountable for their response to the forgiveness, pardon, and reconciliation offered them in the Lord Jesus Christ. When an individual turns their life over to Jesus, the person is adopted into his family and enrolled in a life of spiritual formation and transformation by the Holy Spirit. Failure to respond to God's call results in eternal separation from him.

  • God’s will for those who are disciples of Jesus is that they exhibit transformed lives evidenced by purity, holiness, and growth in Christ-like character. He desires that they each participate according to their spiritual gifts in the task of effectively sharing the gospel message of salvation with those near and far who have yet to believe in Jesus.

  • The Church consists of all those who have turned their lives over to the Lord Jesus Christ. The primary purpose of the Church is to worship God, glorify him by building up believers and effectively reaching the world with the gospel of Christ.

  • Jesus Christ will one day return, raise the dead, judge all men and women, and establish his glorious kingdom.
